1997: Foundation of Megiddo
1999: First Demo "A Journey"
2000: Name changed to SONIC REIGN
2004: Mini Album "The Decline Portrait"
SONIC REIGN was founded in 1997 by Benjamin Borucki and Sebastian Schneider under the name Megiddo with the intention to create unique black metal. The band soon quit with the search for additional band members and continued as a duo. The first two years both members tried to improve their style of playing and writing first material.
In 1999 the band released the first demo "A Journey" which was recorded under rather poor conditions.
In 2000 the band changed to their style to cold and modern black metal. The first song for "The Decline Portrait" was written and the band's name changed to SONIC REIGN.
The band continued to record "The Decline Portrait" which resulted in attention from Supreme Chaos Records. After some negotiation about a deal the band was signed in July 2004.
Meanwhile the band had recorded some preproduction songs for the first ful length album "Raw, Dark, Pure". The title song out of this session made it as bonus track onto "The Decline Portrait" to let people know where SONIC REIGN is today and most people are really looking forward to the first full album of this really extraordinary band.
